Project: Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powered Drone

Organization:  UC Merced TEEL (Thermal and Electrochemical Energy Lab) 

Description: I worked on developing a controller for a hydrogen fuel cell and li-po hybrid system tuned for drone power demands. This included the drone power draw, the characterization of the fuel cell, and the effect of the battery. We collected drone data by attaching a data logger to preciously planned missions and characterized the fuel cell through our own sensing written in Arduino. The controller to actuate the inputs was also written in Arduino. We were successful in powering a drone attached to a test bench.
